"Rota dos Cetáceos" is dolphins and whales observation business company in Madeira.
We guarantee you all time support and escort of a Marine biologist, who will accompany you since the begining of the trip and even before during a short introduction wich takes place at our headquarters.

Daily Whales and Dolphins watching
To garantee the daily Whales and Dolphins watching we have observers on land, who give us the directions to easily find the animals. Once we track them it's time to go whales and dolphins close watching!
Swimming with Dolphins
It's also possible for you to swim with the dolphins, we assure you that it is an unforgettable experience!
Historial
From whaling to conservation
"Rota dos Cetáceos" is the natural evolution of a family business long connected to the sea. It started with whaling between 1940 and 1980 and it is currently involved in wild cetacean conservation through ecotourism. "Rota dos Cetáceos" is an example of benign and sustainable use of marine resources, contributing to their conservation.
We believe that knowledge is essential and therefore, in everything we do, the ecological message comes across strongly. We follow the voluntary viewing guidelines for whales and dolphins in the Madeira archipelago to offer our clients a quality experience, observing and respecting the natural behaviour of cetaceans.
Life's origin on Earth is the oceans and in the oceans lies the future. As far as we are conserned, the future starts today in each step we take.

Lícia Ferreira is Rota dos Cetáceos Marine Biologist. She escorts all the clients to the boats and supports them during the trip. Her main functions are helping them to identify the watched species and also assure that there is no damage to those animals in there natural habitat.
